Representative Workers’ Compensation Case Results
The following are examples of workers’ compensation matters our firm has handled for Louisiana workers. Prior results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome; every case is unique and decided on its own facts.
$90,000 Settlement — Restaurant Manager Attacked on the Job
We represented the regional manager of a well-known fast-food restaurant who was injured when two criminals jumped over the counter and attacked her. We negotiated a $90,000 settlement addressing her injuries and the employer’s failure to pay workers’ compensation benefits.
Seven-Figure Settlement — Roofer Paralyzed in a Fall
We negotiated a seven-figure settlement for a roofing worker who was paralyzed after falling from a rooftop.
$240,000 After Trial — Back Injury the Insurer Refused to Pay
Our client, a laborer, injured his back lifting a heavy object at work. The workers’ compensation insurer offered $10,000 at the outset and refused to pay anything more — including medical or indemnity benefits. We took the case to trial and won, then settled post-trial for $240,000.
Over $2,500,000 — Farm Laborers Injured in a Tractor Accident
We represented two injured farm laborers, one of whom lost his leg in a tractor accident. Beyond helping them navigate their workers’ compensation claims, we filed a third-party personal injury suit against the company that employed the negligent tractor operator and recovered over $2,500,000 for our clients.
Workers’ Comp Benefits Plus $80,000 in Overtime — Construction Ladder Fall
Our client was injured falling from a ladder on a construction project, and his employer refused to report the accident to its workers’ compensation insurer. We recovered all available workers’ compensation benefits for him — and, after uncovering wage violations, brought a collective FLSA overtime suit in federal court that recovered $80,000 in overtime wages for 27 construction workers.
These results are illustrative of matters we have handled. Prior results do not guarantee or predict a similar outcome in any future case; each matter is unique and is decided on its own facts and law.
